E-Government Announcements are official notices and announcements published through the e-Government system. In addition to sending formal written notifications to relevant authorities, the government posts announcements for citizens on the e-Government portal.
- Election Announcements
- Exam Announcements
- New e-Service Launch Announcements
- Tender Announcements
Announcements like these and others are shared via the e-Government platform.
Every citizen should visit the e-Government site regularly to read published notices and stay informed about official announcements.
The e-Government system increasingly moves public services online, making it easier to complete government transactions over the internet. Since its launch, the platform has evolved significantly and citizens have adapted to and regularly use its services.
Currently, more than 30 million citizens of the Republic of Turkey are registered with the e-Government system. User numbers rose further after agreements with certain banks enabled direct access to the e-Government portal through banks’ online banking services.
More than 300 institutions offer services through the e-Government system, and new agencies are added continually to expand available services.
Election Announcements on e-Government
The Republic of Turkey frequently holds various elections. Announcements for general elections, local elections and presidential elections (following recent legal changes) are published through the e-Government platform. In addition to announcements, the system provides services such as verifying voter information and locating polling stations for citizens who will vote.
Aside from scheduled elections, referendums approved by parliamentary decision are also announced via the e-Government system. For example, announcements related to the April 16, 2017 Constitutional Amendment Referendum were posted on the e-Government portal at the beginning of February of that year.
The e-Government portal publishes announcements not only for residents in the country but also for citizens living abroad and dual nationals. Those residing overseas can follow election notices and related information through the e-Government system.
Higher Education Council Announcements
Announcements from the Higher Education Council (YÖK) are also published on the e-Government portal. New decisions, amendments and other important updates from the Council are announced through the system so all relevant citizens are informed.
Some announcements can be viewed without logging in, while access to certain notices requires signing into the e-Government portal using your national ID number and e-Government password.
You can access the e-Government site by using the link provided at the end of this article.
Obtaining an e-Government Password
To log in to the e-Government system, you must have an e-Government password. First-time users can obtain a password at the nearest PTT branch by paying a small fee. Citizens who have previously received a password can also request a new one at a PTT office if needed.
Announcements for New e-Services
New online services are added to the e-Government system regularly, and each new service is announced on the portal when it becomes available.
Thanks to e-services on the platform, individuals can complete many transactions online without visiting government offices. For example, in the past it was necessary to visit a courthouse to obtain a criminal record certificate. With services moved online, the criminal record can now be viewed through the e-Government system and printed for submission to the relevant institution when required.
