How to Claim Tuberculosis (TB) and SSPE Benefits in Turkey

Payments for tuberculosis (TB) and SSPE have been implemented through the cooperation of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Family and Social Services. Monthly allowances are granted to patients with a confirmed diagnosis of tuberculosis or SSPE at specified rates. These payments aim to provide both psychosocial and financial support, helping beneficiaries maintain dignity and meet basic needs. Regular monthly assistance also contributes to a sense of stability for recipients.

According to World Health Organization data, the incidence of tuberculosis has begun to decline, and fatalities have decreased thanks to improved medical resources and public health measures. Greater public awareness and stricter prevention policies have also helped reduce disease spread. Tuberculosis is a bacterial infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, transmitted through the air.

As part of its social responsibilities, the state continues efforts to combat tuberculosis. Because the disease can affect social life and livelihoods, public support programs are essential. For the first time in the world, financial compensation and psychosocial support for tuberculosis patients have been combined in a national program. Under a project prepared by the Ministry of Family and Social Services, people who meet the defined criteria are eligible to receive monthly payments.
