The facility began serving as a health center in 1974. The hospital is made up of three floors. Due to a growing population, an additional building was constructed in 2004 and opened for service in 2005. After 2002, facing staff shortages, the Health Directorate temporarily closed the facility and later reorganized it as a district hospital.
