Diyanet Announces 2,450 New Religious Officer Openings

According to the announcement by the Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet İşleri Başkanlığı), candidates will be recruited to the Diyanet Academy as trainee religious officers through an oral examination conducted by the Presidency. The recruitment aims to fill provincial organization positions advertised in 2022 based on KPSS B-group ranking; the Presidency will invite three times the number of vacancies for each position to the oral exam. What Are the Application Requirements for Diyanet Religious Officer Positions?

Candidates must meet the following general requirements to apply for the personnel recruitment announced by the Presidency of Religious Affairs:

  • Meet the general conditions specified in Article 48/A of Law No. 657 on Civil Servants,
  • Possess the common qualification requirements stated in the Presidency of Religious Affairs’ Appointment and Relocation Regulation,
  • Hold the education level required for the relevant job title as of the application deadline,
  • Have obtained at least 50 points in the 2022 KPSS: KPSSP124 for bachelor’s graduates, KPSSP123 for associate degree graduates, and KPSSP122 for secondary education graduates,
  • Have no physical or other impediment preventing them from performing the duties of the position they apply for,
  • Possess a memorization (Hafızlık) certificate, if applying for Hafız quotas,
  • Candidates may apply for only one job title group.

Additionally, under special requirements:

  • For the Qur’an Course Instructor position serving hearing-impaired students, candidates must hold at least 120 hours of sign language certification.
  • For the Qur’an Course Instructor position serving visually impaired students, candidates must hold at least 64 hours of Braille alphabet certification.
  • For the Qur’an Course Instructor positions serving hearing- or visually-impaired students, candidates must have worked as a temporary instructor at the Presidency of Religious Affairs for at least one academic year (180 working days). These service periods must be documented through DİBBYS records.
  • Candidates whose fixed-term contracts were terminated while employed in a contracted position should note they are ineligible to apply for one year from the contract termination date.

Application Procedures for Higher Education Graduates and Secondary Education Graduates with Electronic Graduation Records

Applications will be accepted between 25.09.2023 and 06.10.2023 (until 16:30) via the “sinav.diyanet.gov.tr” website.

Higher education graduates’ bachelor’s and associate degree information will be verified electronically. Applicants whose graduation records are not available electronically must ensure their institutions (universities) register their graduation information in the electronic system before applying.

Applicants whose education information appears automatically on the electronic application screen will have their applications approved automatically.

Application Procedures for Secondary Education Graduates without Electronic Graduation Records

Secondary education graduates whose records are not available electronically must complete a preliminary application for the exam at “sinav.diyanet.gov.tr” between 25.09.2023 and 06.10.2023.

To finalize the preliminary application, candidates must personally apply to any provincial or district mufti’s office between 25.09.2023 and 06.10.2023 during working hours (08:30–16:30).

Applicants must present an identity document (national ID, identity card, or passport) and a diploma or graduation document that shows their education level according to the quota group to complete the application approval.

Other Notes on Application Procedures

Candidates applying for Hafız quotas whose memorization details do not appear automatically on the application screen must have their Hafız status registered through mufti’s offices.

Any document or certificate requested during the application must be uploaded in PDF format to the relevant section of the application screen. Applicants are fully responsible for submitting complete and accurate applications. Application information cannot be changed after the application period ends.

Information on the Exam and Results

All announcements regarding the exam and results will be published on the Presidency’s website and the Human Resources General Directorate page. No separate notifications will be sent to candidates.

Issuance of the “Exam Entrance Document” and retrieval of exam results will be available through “sinav.diyanet.gov.tr”.

Appeals to Exam Results

Candidates may submit written appeals regarding exam results to the Presidency within seven days from the date the results are published. Appeals received after this period will not be considered.

Evaluation and Ranking

A minimum score of 70 is required to be considered successful in the exam.

Ranking will be determined based on oral exam scores.

Other Matters

The Presidency may request relevant information and documents from candidates at any stage of the exam process.

Applications and exams of candidates who provide false information or documents will be rendered invalid.
