Support for Employers with Fewer Than 10 Employees

The majority of the new Occupational Health and Safety Law has come into force. Under this law, the provision that “employers with fewer than 10 employees receive SGK support” is also effective. Below we provide detailed information about the other provisions of this law.

Law No. 6331 on Occupational Health and Safety

According to Law No. 6331 dated 30.06.2012, new regulations have been introduced covering the employment of occupational health and safety personnel, monitoring and training of employees, inspection and maintenance of machines and controls, development of accident-prevention policies, and preparation of risk assessment reports. Under the Ministry of Labor, workplaces are categorized by risk level as “Hazardous, Less Hazardous, and Highly Hazardous.”

Support for Small Enterprises

Small enterprises—those with nine or fewer employees—are eligible for financial support. For workplaces classified as less hazardous, the support is 14.99 TL per employee. For workplaces classified as highly hazardous, the support increases to 17.13 TL per employee. To apply for this support, you must visit a Social Security Institution (SGK) office and declare your situation.

Employers should ensure their workplace hazard classification is accurate and that they keep records of the occupational safety measures and training provided. Proper documentation and compliance with the law help secure the available support and reduce workplace risks. If you are unsure about the classification or procedures, consult your local SGK office or an occupational health and safety professional to confirm eligibility and complete the application process correctly.
