The Ministry of Treasury and Finance announced that the February salaries of civil servants, public workers and contracted personnel will be paid early following the earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş that caused widespread devastation across 10 provinces. A circular published by the ministry ensures these employees will receive their wages ahead of the usual schedule.
To accelerate payments, the ministry initially focused on the ten affected provinces but extended the advance-pay program to cover the entire country. Moving the February payroll date forward is expected to help meet urgent needs, especially for people living in the earthquake zone, by providing quicker access to funds.

WHEN WILL FEBRUARY CIVIL SERVANT SALARIES BE PAID?
Two major earthquakes centered in Kahramanmaraş resulted in severe destruction across Gaziantep, Hatay, Kilis, Adıyaman, Malatya, Şanlıurfa, Osmaniye, Adana and Diyarbakır. With tens of thousands of lives lost and relief operations ongoing, the Ministry of Treasury and Finance issued a new directive regarding public payrolls.
The ministry announced that February salary payments for all civil servants, contracted public personnel and public workers across Turkey will be brought forward. Under this decision, affected employees’ salaries will be deposited into accounts on Saturday, February 11, 2023.

APPLICABLE NATIONWIDE
The ministry first issued a circular to advance February salary payments for civil servants, contracted personnel and public employees in the ten provinces hit hardest by the earthquake. That decision was then expanded to apply nationwide. As a result, on February 11, all civil servants, contracted public personnel and public workers will receive their February pay early.
Issuing salaries early in a month marked by one of the country’s most severe earthquakes is expected to provide practical benefits in multiple ways. Quick access to wages should ease immediate financial pressure and support recovery efforts for residents of the affected regions.
In addition, President Erdoğan recently announced a one-time 10,000 TL earthquake relief payment for affected citizens. The exact timing of those payments has not yet been finalized.
