The retirement-rights regulation known as EYT, which will enable many people to receive the retirement they have long dreamed of, has been enacted with the approval of all parties in Parliament. The EYT bill was accepted by the General Assembly. With the law’s approval,
Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Bilgin stated that they have worked on EYT for a long time and that the 24-year problem has now been resolved, sharing a message of “congratulations.”
Once the application process is published in the Official Gazette, people who began working before September 1999 will be eligible to retire even if they do not meet the age requirement. Initially, the regulation is expected to benefit 2,250,000 people. Although the age condition will not apply, the service length requirement remains: 20 years for women and 25 years for men. Those who are short of contribution days can complete the missing days through maternity, birth, or military service buybacks.
EYT Application Details
Applications for EYT, which will begin after publication in the Official Gazette, can be submitted via the e-Government portal (e-Devlet) and through the Social Security Institution (SGK). Individuals who meet the conditions will be able to retire without a time limit. Those who submit a retirement application form will be able to benefit from the EYT regulation.
What Are the Eligibility Conditions for EYT?
With the enactment of the long-awaited EYT regulation, those who were insured before September 8, 1999, and who have completed 20 years of insurance for women or 25 years for men will be able to retire without an age requirement.
To qualify for retirement, applicants must also meet the contribution-day requirement, which varies depending on the employment start date and ranges from 5,000 to 5,975 days. Individuals who meet both of these conditions can benefit from EYT.
