Previously married and divorced individuals who remarry can also apply for assistance for their new marriage. Priority is given to those in greatest need. The number of couples expected to receive support is projected to exceed ten thousand.
Applications can be submitted via Alo 153. The Istanbul Senin mobile application is also available for applications. For online applications, applicants should use the sosyalyardim.ibb.gov.tr platform.
İBB Marriage Support Application Screen
You can access the İBB marriage support application screen by visiting sosyalyardim.ibb.gov.tr. This platform allows you to submit social assistance applications online. Online submissions act as preliminary applications, and the municipality may request supporting documents based on your submission.
You must bring requested documents to the municipality on the specified date and time. Municipality teams also conduct home visits for social investigation. Because these visits may be unannounced, it is important to monitor your application status.
After accessing sosyalyardim.ibb.gov.tr, you will see the screen shown above. The site includes a “Application Inquiry” section where applicants can track the status of previously submitted applications.

Providing accurate information is important; false information may lead to legal consequences. After applying, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality may contact you by phone or SMS.
After selecting “Online Application,” choose the “Application Type.” You will see two options: “Livelihood-table support” and “Marriage assistance.”

The application asks about your COVID-19 status. The timing of social investigation visits may be scheduled according to this information. If an applicant is currently infected, visits are postponed until recovery to prevent disease spread.
You must indicate your COVID-19 status as positive or negative. Those currently ill should choose “Positive,” while recovered or uninfected applicants should choose “Negative.”
Applicants must enter their Turkish ID number (T.C. Kimlik No). This number is printed on ID cards, driving licenses and passports. If you do not know your ID number, you can obtain it from population registry offices.
Applicants are asked for their date of birth in day, month and year format (for example, 03.05.1980).
Finally, applicants must provide their first and last names in separate fields. Only one spouse needs to submit the application on behalf of the couple to request marriage assistance.
Enter your surname in the last name field. After completing the form, enter the security code displayed on screen to proceed. If you cannot read the code, click “Refresh” to generate a new one.
After entering the security code, you must give consent to share your personal data. First, check the box that authorizes limited sharing of your information with authorized institutions.
Next, check the box labeled “I approve” to consent to the processing of the data you provide.
Finally, you must consent to the processing of household members’ data by checking the “I approve” box for family data processing.
Once you have confirmed the accuracy of your consents and the information provided, click “Save and continue” to proceed. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the submission.
How to Receive İBB Marriage Support
To receive İBB marriage support, applicants must meet certain conditions. Residency in Istanbul is mandatory. Couples can apply up to three months after their marriage.
