February 24 Fuel Prices Update: Brent, LPG, Diesel, Petrol

In Turkey, fuel prices have been in the spotlight recently due to fluctuations in the exchange rate, high inflation, and volatility in global markets—especially movements in Brent crude prices. After a recent reduction in gasoline prices, a similar cut for diesel is now expected.

As Brent crude fell on global markets, fuel discounts began to appear. Drivers are closely watching current pump prices for gasoline, diesel and LPG. On Friday, February 24, many motorists started checking updated fuel prices.

BRENT CRUDE PRICES TURNED DOWN

Brent crude, which influences fuel prices in Turkey, has continued to show volatility. Last Tuesday the barrel price rose to $84.30 before closing at $84.07. On the following day, Brent declined by 1.02% at close, trading around $83.21 per barrel.

Analysts point to ongoing uncertainty about the U.S. Federal Reserve’s future monetary policy as a key factor behind the fall in fuel prices. These global market swings continue to affect Brent crude and, by extension, domestic fuel costs.

48-KURUŞ REDUCTION FOR GASOLINE

A domestic reduction for gasoline took effect from midnight on February 22, cutting prices by 48 kuruş per liter. This decrease is largely attributed to the recent drop in Brent crude prices. Following this move, a comparable cut for diesel is now anticipated.

A DIESEL PRICE CUT MAY FOLLOW

A diesel price reduction is expected to take effect on Friday, February 24. Market reports highlight a possible 63-kuruş decrease. After a period of significant increases in fuel costs, such reductions attract considerable attention from consumers and industry observers alike.
