Various government supports and incentives continue to be offered for those who want to build a house. Financial assistance will be available through these supports for many people who want to own or build a home but lack sufficient budget. In recent years, rising construction costs have forced many to postpone their dream of buying a house.
As housing prices and construction costs increase, alternative solutions are being developed. Alongside recently announced low-interest loan opportunities aimed at helping middle-income families become homeowners, several other projects and supports are being implemented.
GOVERNMENT SUPPORT FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO BUILD A HOUSE
Government support for new home construction is offered through a variety of measures. However, applicants must meet several conditions to benefit from these supports. Through the Ministry of Family and Social Services’ housing assistance programs, eligible citizens can receive help specifically for constructing reinforced concrete homes.

WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE GOVERNMENT HOME CONSTRUCTION SUPPORT?
The support provided by the Ministry of Family and Social Services is subject to several requirements. Applicants must own the land or plot where they intend to build, and they must hold full title deed for that parcel. Plots with joint ownership do not qualify for the assistance. In addition, the applicant must be identified as in need.
Another key condition is that the household’s average net monthly income per person must not exceed one third of the minimum wage. Also important is the condition that the family’s current dwelling is unhealthy or in poor condition. If all conditions are fully met, the applicant can receive government support to build a house.
HOW MUCH IS THE GOVERNMENT SUPPORT FOR BUILDING A HOUSE?
The Ministry continues to provide financial support for needy households building homes. For eligible applicants, the reinforced concrete house construction grant has been increased from 200,000 TL to 300,000 TL. Beneficiaries can use this 300,000 TL support to reduce construction costs when building a reinforced concrete house.
