Latest Updates on Additional Payments for 4/C Employees

4/C employees are personnel working under contract as specified in Article 4 of the Civil Servants Law and are covered by the Pension Fund. The long-awaited announcement about additional payments for 4/C staff has finally arrived. If you are wondering what the current status of the 4/C additional payment is, please read on.

Following a complaint to the Ombudsman Institution submitted by Memur-Sen on behalf of 4/C workers whose rights had been curtailed, a decision has been reached. The tense and anxious wait of 4/C employees is over, replaced by relief and satisfaction. According to the Ombudsman’s statement, it was determined that 4/C workers suffered losses related to additional payments, and the institution clarified the latest position on those payments. The announcement confirmed that the additional payment grievances stemming from both judicial decisions and the collective bargaining process have been resolved by court rulings. As a result, 4/C employees will receive the additional payment awarded by the courts as well as the additional amount provided under the collective bargaining agreement.

How Much Will Be Paid?

For those asking how much the 4/C additional payment will be, here is the explanation. It was announced that 4/C employees will receive an additional payment calculated by multiplying the indicator number 1,800 by the civil servant monthly coefficient. This entitlement, which had been taken away before the collective agreement, was about 150 TRY under the previous terms and will increase to approximately 750 TRY according to the new agreement.

The long wait about when the 4/C additional payment would be paid is now over. With the resolution of the payment issue, the additional payment amounts for qualifying 4/C employees have increased by 600 TRY, rising to 750 TRY. Restoring this additional payment through the collective agreement has brought great relief to 4/C staff. The decision has also enabled the Ministry of Finance and other relevant institutions to rectify the hardship suffered by those affected, in line with the court rulings.
