Established in 1908 near the Beyoğlu Tower as a facility affiliated with the Istanbul Police Department, the hospital was relocated to the Hasköy area in 1918. In 1982, the institution was transferred to the Ministry of Health. Since 2009, it has continued to serve patients from the building located on the grounds of the Bakırköy Leprosy Hospital.
