Track PTT Parcel File Status Online

The history of PTT stretches back a long way. Established in 1840 as the “Posta Nezareti” (Post Office Directorate), the organization we know today as PTT has served citizens for 177 years. Although it began primarily as a postal service, PTT has expanded its activities considerably and now offers not only mail services but also banking, cargo, books, and telephone line services. Tracking transactions used to be difficult. Even when it operated only as a postal organization, people often experienced lost parcels or letters that never arrived. Records were kept by hand, which made tracking files, documents, and mail nearly impossible. Today, however, PTT leverages modern technology to make many services trackable online. Below we explain these services in detail and provide thorough information about PTT file tracking (PTT dosya sorgulama).

Today, you can send and receive a wide variety of items via PTT. There are certain limitations, but in general you can send most things. The range of items has led PTT to classify shipments into two main categories by type: “postal services” and “notifications” (tebligatlar). Postal services include printed or handwritten items such as letters, greeting cards, postcards, and invitations. These are further divided by destination into domestic and international postal services. The second category, notifications, refers to official notices sent by authorized institutions under relevant laws—courts and enforcement offices, bar associations and notaries, and other authorities specified in applicable legislation—to inform citizens about specific events or situations. Fees for shipments vary based on the item type, weight, dimensions, and destination.

If you know a shipment was sent to you, you can now query its status online. With the shipment’s barcode number, you can use two different PTT tracking systems to see every movement after the item was posted and learn its current location at the time of the query. The two options are the e-Government (e-Devlet) system—where many public services are centralized—and PTT’s own tracking service on its website.

Tracking via e-Government (e-Devlet)

The e-Government platform provides many official services online and helps reduce administrative load in public offices. PTT offers several services through e-Government, including file tracking. To track a PTT shipment on e-Government, first log in using your Turkish ID number and your e-Government password. If you do not have an e-Government password, you can obtain one from the nearest PTT branch using your identity card.

After clicking “Sign In” and accessing the site, open the “E-Services” section and locate “PTT,” or type “PTT” into the search box in the top-right corner. You will see the list of available PTT services.

Tracking on PTT’s Website

Another way to check shipments addressed to you is PTT’s own tracking system. Unlike e-Government, this method does not require a login, making it quicker and more convenient for many users. To use it, go to PTT’s official website and click the “Shipment Tracking” (Gönderi Takibi) tab. You can find this section from the PTT homepage.
