Office Hours Change After Ramadan Bayram Holiday

Working hours change after Eid al-Fitr. According to breaking news, working hours for public employees in Istanbul will be adjusted following the holiday. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, public sector schedules were previously modified. With pandemic precautions being reevaluated, a decision has been made to restore public working hours in Istanbul to a more normal schedule after Eid al-Fitr. The Istanbul Governor’s Office announced that, effective May 27, 2020, public sector working hours will be 09:00–13:00 and 13:30–17:30.

The adjustment applies across Istanbul beginning May 27, 2020. Previously implemented changes to working hours because of coronavirus precautions will be replaced with the standard schedule of 09:00–13:00 and 13:30–17:30 for public employees as of that date.

Istanbul Governor’s Office Announces Working Hour Change

The Istanbul Governor’s Office has announced a change to public sector working hours for the whole province. In its statement, the Governor’s Office noted that pursuant to Article 100 of Law No. 657 on Civil Servants, public working hours across the province will be applied as 09:00–13:00 and 13:30–17:30 effective May 27, 2020.

Provisions pertaining to public institutions and organizations whose working hours must be regulated differently by special laws, regulations or bylaws remain reserved. This announcement is provided for your information and necessary action.
