Good news arrived from the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Services, Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, regarding payments for unemployment benefits and short-time working allowances ahead of the holiday. In her latest statement, Minister Selçuk announced that the payments due for July 2020 will be made starting on 27 July.
The minister confirmed that unemployment and short-time working benefit disbursements for July will begin on Monday, 27 July 2020. The decision moves the original payment date earlier so beneficiaries receive support prior to the Kurban Bayramı holiday.
July Payments Scheduled Between 27 and 29 July
Payments for July will be completed between 27 and 29 July. Minister Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk explained that the usual payment planned for 5 August was brought forward so citizens receive their support before the holiday. The payments will be transferred to recipients’ bank accounts according to the final digit of their Turkish identity number, starting Monday, 27 July 2020.
For beneficiaries who do not have IBAN information registered, the minister stated that payments will be made through PTT (the national postal service). The schedule for unemployment and short-time working payments is as follows:
- Those whose Turkish identity number ends with 0 or 2 will receive payments on Monday, 27 July,
- Those whose Turkish identity number ends with 4 or 6 will receive payments on Tuesday, 28 July,
- Those whose Turkish identity number ends with 8 will receive payments on Wednesday, 29 July,
This arrangement ensures that eligible recipients receive their July benefits in time for the holiday period. Beneficiaries should check their bank accounts or PTT for receipt of funds on the assigned dates.
