For subcontracted workers who transitioned to permanent positions, a critical date has been set for their tediye (additional bonus) payments. After the third tediye payments made on July 27, workers have been wondering when the fourth tediye payment will be made.
When Will the 4th Tediye Payments Be Made?
The fourth tediye payments remain a topic of keen interest for workers who have been incorporated into permanent staff. With the end of the year approaching, these additional payments carry significant importance for employees. To date, the additional tediye payments for public and formerly subcontracted workers who moved into permanent positions have been made in three installments. The first additional tediye was paid on January 31, the second on May 22, and the third on July 27.
Tediye payments, which reflect 52 days’ worth of wages and are usually paid in four installments each year, now have a confirmed date for the final payment of 2020. According to the schedule published in the Official Gazette, the fourth additional tediye for workers employed under institutions covered by Law No. 6772 will be paid on December 14, 2020. Approximately 900,000 public and former subcontracted workers who moved into permanent positions will benefit from this payment starting on December 14. Payments will be transferred automatically into the workers’ bank accounts.
What Is the Additional Tediye and Which Institutions Pay It?
The payment known as the additional tediye is granted to subcontracted and public workers who were transitioned to permanent positions under Law No. 6772. This payment is provided within the scope of a 52-day payment provision. The additional tediye is legally secured by the law and constitutes a right for workers employed in the public sector. Workers who moved into permanent positions within public administrations covered by the general government are entitled to receive the 52-day tediye payment in institutions that belong to public administrations under the general budget and those that do not have a separate legal personality but operate within the state’s legal entity.

The institutions required to pay the additional tediye are also defined by law. Accordingly, payments are made by institutions with general and annexed budgets, administrations with special budgets, organizations where more than half of the capital is state-owned, state economic enterprises, municipalities, and special provincial administrations for workers employed under service contracts. In short, additional tediye payments are made for all public workers employed by state-affiliated institutions and organizations who work under the provisions of the Labor Law. As a result of their transition to permanent positions, former subcontracted workers are now eligible to receive these additional tediye payments.
How Much Are the Additional Tediye Payments?
The total amount of additional tediye payments is determined annually and typically increases from year to year. Rather than being paid as a single lump sum, the annual total is divided into four installments and paid to workers in quarterly portions. The calculation is based on the worker’s gross salary. After calculating the gross amount, social security premiums, income tax, and stamp tax are deducted from the paid amount. Consequently, the net tediye payment varies depending on the worker’s earnings. For an employee earning the minimum wage, the net additional tediye equivalent to 52 days’ bonus is calculated at a net amount of 3,646 Turkish lira.
Additional tediye payments are provided to all workers who are in the permanent staff, and employees do not need to apply to receive them; payments are deposited automatically into their accounts.
