As the internet has become an integral part of our lives, many official procedures can now be completed online. The system that allows public institutions, agencies affiliated with ministries, and ministries themselves to provide information and services to citizens online is called e-Government. Also known as Electronic Government, this system can be accessed using an e-Government password obtained from PTT offices. While e-Government already provides access to all ministries, banks and other organizations have gradually started to integrate their services into the system.
After receiving your password from a PTT office, log in to the system and you will be prompted to change that password to a new, private one. Choose a password that is both secure and memorable, since this credential gives access to all official transactions; if you forget it, you must obtain a new password from PTT again and pay the associated fee. Once you set your personal password, you will be signed in. On the left side of the screen you will see the Services section, which lists public institutions and their services alphabetically from A to Z.
After entering e-Government, on the main page select the E-Services tab from the left-hand menu, where you’ll see E-Services, Public Institutions, Municipalities, Contact and Help Center. The E-Services page lists public institutions and the services they offer. Among these institutions you will find the Social Security Institution (Sosyal Güvenlik Kurumu). Once you locate the Social Security Institution, choose the 4B services category and click on “4B Borç Durumu” to access the Bağ-Kur debt inquiry service (bağkur borç sorgulama). For Bağ-Kur debt restructuring (bağkur borç yapılandırma), select either “4B 6736 Yapılandırma borç bilgileri” or “4B 7020 yapılandırma ön bilgileri” to view and arrange restructuring options for your Bağ-Kur debt.
Beyond these services, you can query and verify many other records through the e-Government system. To perform these tasks you only need your Turkish ID number (T.C. kimlik numarası) and your personal password. No additional information is required to access the available services.
