Breaking News: Weekend Curfew to Be Enforced in 15 Provinces! According to the latest information from the Ministry of Interior, a weekend curfew will be in effect across 15 provinces on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7, 2020. On Saturday, June 6, grocery stores, butchers, greengrocers and nut shops will be open between 10:00 and 17:00.
The curfew will begin at 00:01 on 06.06.2020 (Saturday) and continue until 00:01 on the night of 07.06.2020 (Sunday) in the 15 provinces. The Ministry of Interior has issued a circular to the governorships regarding the curfew measures. The circular states that the decisions were taken based on recommendations from the Ministry of Health and the Scientific Committee, and under the instructions of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The measures aim to manage the risks posed by the coronavirus outbreak to public health and public order, to ensure social isolation, to maintain social distancing and to keep the rate of spread under control.

Which provinces will the curfew apply to? As part of managing the public health risks of the coronavirus outbreak, measures taken so far have been evaluated for their effect on slowing the spread, and additional precautions continue to be implemented. On the recommendation of the Ministry of Health and at the direction of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, restrictions will be enforced in 15 provinces. The curfew is scheduled to start at 24:00 on 05.06.2020 and end at 24:00 on 07.06.2020. The provinces affected are listed below.

To minimize disruption to daily life, markets, grocery stores, greengrocers and butchers will remain open until 23:00 on Friday, 05.06.2020, before the restriction begins. On Saturday, 06.06.2020, markets, grocery stores, greengrocers and nut shops will be open between 10:00 and 17:00. Except for citizens aged 18 and under and those 65 and older, residents may go out for essential needs within limits and without using vehicles, visiting the nearest grocery, greengrocer, butcher or nut shop. During these hours, the listed businesses may also provide home delivery.
Bakeries and other businesses that produce bread and baked goods will remain open on Saturday and Sunday, 06.06.2020 and 07.06.2020. Additionally, during hours when citizens are not allowed outside on those dates, dessert-selling establishments may operate by home delivery.
