HGS cards are registered to specific license plates, and charges are applied per plate. Cards cannot be used for other vehicles; sellers must cancel their HGS card registration.

How Much Is an HGS Unauthorized Passage Fine?

HGS unauthorized passage fines are issued for vehicles that pass toll points illegally. A fine report is prepared within 15 days for the relevant plate. If the vehicle is registered with HGS or OGS and has sufficient balance, no fine is applied. In cases of OGS violations, fines are also issued within 15 days based on the plate and lane used. Purchasing an OGS card after a violation does not cancel an existing fine. Early payment discounts apply for HGS fines (25%). Typical amounts are:

  • An unauthorized HGS passage fine is generally 10 times the standard toll at the location.
  • If the toll is 5.00 TL, the fine would be 50.00 TL, making the total 55.00 TL including the toll.
  • Example: Regular toll 8.75 TL, unauthorized passage fine 35.00 TL, total payment 43.75 TL.

To pay HGS and OGS fines, present the vehicle plate at PTT branches. Administrative fines up to four times the toll amount may be applied within 15 days before or after notification of the violation.
