Additional 100 TL Payment
Under the recent amendment published in the Official Gazette on 22.02.2014 (issue 28921) and enacted through Article 7 of the Law on Amendments to Certain Laws and Decrees, which amended Law No. 5434 on the Retirement Fund of the Republic of Turkey, an additional payment rule was introduced in the supplementary Article 81. According to this regulation, personnel belonging to the National Intelligence Services and Police Services classes, and members of the Turkish Armed Forces—specifically non-commissioned officers, commissioned officers, specialist gendarmes and specialist sergeants—who receive a retirement pension or ordinary disability pension based on ranks, along with those holding the position title of “market and neighborhood watch,” are entitled to receive an additional monthly payment of 100 TL if they are not eligible to receive position compensation together with their pension.
According to these provisions, retirees who return to insured employment after retirement become ineligible for this additional payment. Retired military personnel who lose the right to receive the additional payment must notify the relevant authorities within at least one month; otherwise, any payments received in error will be reclaimed with interest.
In summary, the amendment establishes that non-commissioned officers, commissioned officers, specialist gendarmes, and specialist sergeants affiliated with the Turkish Armed Forces who are receiving retirement or disability pensions are eligible for an additional monthly payment of 100 TL. The decision also extends the 100 TL additional payment to widows and orphans who receive a pension due to the death of an eligible beneficiary.
However, the additional payment will not be made to persons who meet any of the following conditions:
- Those who are entitled to receive position compensation (makam tazminatı),
- Duty-related disabled veterans,
- Those who have not been granted a pension as military retirees,
- Individuals who are insured under any institution affiliated with the Social Security Institution (SGK).
These criteria determine who qualifies for the 100 TL supplementary monthly payment and who is excluded under the current regulation.
