Check Your Health Insurance!
One of the conveniences offered to citizens through the e-Government portal is the ability to perform health insurance inquiries in seconds. Through the interface called SAGMER, you can quickly view the details of your health insurance policy and other related insurance information.
If you wonder what SAGMER is: SAGMER stands for the Health Information and Monitoring Center. This center consolidates life, health, traffic, and mandatory insurances in one place. Information is updated synchronously and made available for oversight.
To view your SAGMER records and find out whether you have health insurance, you must first log in to the e-Government portal. If it’s your first time using e-Government, follow these steps:
First, obtain your e-Government password from the nearest PTT branch. Present your Turkish identity card (T.C. nüfus cüzdanı) and the required fee at the PTT; you will receive a single-use password in a sealed envelope. With this password, go to the e-Government portal and click the LOGIN button. On the screen that appears, enter your T.C. identity number and the password you received, then click “CONTINUE.” Because this is your first login, you will be asked to change your password. After updating your password and providing contact details, you will reach the services page. On that page, click the search bar located in the upper-left corner. Type “SAGMER” into the search field and click the first result that appears. From the screen that opens, you can view all your health, life, and traffic insurance information instantly with a single click.
