Binali Yıldırım spoke at the Memur-Sen Erzincan Provincial Representation organization meeting held in the provincial mufti’s conference hall, offering notable comments on current issues. His remarks centered on those seeking to govern. He criticized politicians who promised before local elections that not a single person would lose their job, then acted in ways that left public employees unemployed the same day, saying this revealed a large gap between their words and minds. He added, “Congratulations — persistence can be a success,” and addressed the long-awaited 3600 supplemental indicator in his speech.
“We Are Approaching the Stage of Finalizing the 3600 Issue!”
On the 3600 supplemental indicator, which public workers, civil servants and retired civil servants have awaited for a long time, Binali Yıldırım said, “We are approaching the stage of finalization.” He continued: “We are taking steps to unify and simplify statuses and regulations for our employees, workers and civil servants. Significant progress has been made on this. The 3600 issue, which has long been on our agenda, is actively being discussed by our Ministry of Labour.” After his remarks he reiterated, “we are approaching the stage of finalization,” offering this as encouraging news.
“There Are Many Stages in the Regulation Process”
At the Memur-Sen organizational meeting, Yıldırım gave a green light for progress on the 3600 supplemental indicator, saying it would be concluded soon while noting the complexity: “There are many stages. It is a difficult regulation. God willing, the process will reach a result that meets expectations. Whether we are civil servants, workers or employers, this country belongs to us. The future of the country is ours. Even if our means are limited, our needs are not,” he commented.
“The Country’s Number One Problem Is Inflation”
Yıldırım also addressed inflation, calling it the most troubling issue. He likened inflation to a dragon that takes from people’s welfare and pockets. “Fighting inflation is essential. Inflation is the country’s number one problem. Various measures are being taken and monetary policies adjusted for this reason. It is a challenge for us, the government and the nation,” he said, noting that new measures are discussed at every Cabinet meeting and communicated to the public as part of the ongoing response.
