The Ministry of Family and Social Services provides electricity assistance to low-income households. These payments aim to help families facing financial hardship cover rising electricity costs during difficult times, provided they meet certain eligibility criteria. Applications for support can be submitted through the e-Government portal.
Over the past three years, electricity support payments were distributed to 2.1 million households, with total disbursements reaching 6.4 billion TL. The scope of payments has been expanded to include families with insufficient financial means who have chronic illnesses and face difficulty accessing electricity. An additional 54 million TL was allocated to enable around 20,000 more families to benefit from the program.
Those with Chronic Illnesses and Device-Dependent Individuals Can Benefit
The Ministry offers cash assistance for electricity bills ranging from 103 TL to 205 TL to citizens who are eligible for social aid.
Payments under this support program are provided at different rates for individuals with chronic illnesses or for patients who rely on electronic devices at home for vital functions.
Electricity bill assistance is specifically available to people who, due to a chronic condition, depend on an electrical device at home to sustain essential life activities. Detailed information about eligible recipients and the program is provided on the family.gov.tr website.
