Minister Koca published the daily updates for July 17, 2020, continuing the regular nationwide reports provided since the virus began to be detected across the country. He noted increases in the numbers of patients in intensive care and those who are intubated, linked to ongoing treatments. The lowest daily death toll in the last 35 days occurred on June 13 with 14 deaths. He emphasized that contact tracing, early diagnosis and treatment aim to reduce fatalities further.
Minister Fahrettin Koca also announced the coronavirus cases recorded in the last 24 hours, noting that this is the second consecutive day the daily new case count remained below one thousand. He stated that the number of newly recovered patients exceeds the number of new confirmed cases. In his update he reported that in Malatya, Trabzon, Kilis, Yalova, Bayburt and Ardahan no pneumonia cases have been observed for three days. He added that the recent case numbers indicate increased seriousness in the coming days.
