An announcement clarified how long retirement procedures take: applications from citizens who want to retire are completed within a maximum of seven days, after which their pensions are paid.
As is known, retirement procedures for civil servants are handled in Ankara. Retirement applications for craftsmen, insured tradespeople and self-employed individuals covered by Bağ-Kur under 4-A and 4-B are processed by the Social Security Institution. For people who pay contributions under Bağ-Kur, retirement procedures are completed within a single day; for other insured citizens, the process takes up to seven days, at which point their pensions are activated.
Viewed by province, Social Security Institutions receive and finalize at least six retirement applications per day. The goal is to complete all procedures as quickly as possible.
