2020 Public Social Facility Usage Fees Announced

The Usage Fees for Public Social Facilities Have Been Set! According to the latest announcement, the Treasury and Finance Ministry’s Communiqué on Public Social Facilities has been published in the Official Gazette. With this announcement, the minimum fees that citizens must pay to use public social facilities have been determined.

The Treasury and Finance Ministry’s Communiqué on Public Social Facilities has been published in the Official Gazette. The communiqué sets the minimum fee amounts that individuals must pay to use public facilities.

The published communiqué covers procedures and principles for determining fees for meals, accommodation and other services provided at social facilities managed by central government bodies, revolving fund enterprises, state economic enterprises, public banks and other public institutions, as well as the use of revenues generated from those services.

What Are the Fees to Use Public Social Facilities?

What are the fees to use public social facilities? According to the communiqué, personnel of institutions who benefit from education and recreation facilities operated by public institutions will pay the following daily per-person meal fees depending on the characteristics of the facility.

  • 17.50 TRY
  • 22.00 TRY
  • 26.50 TRY

Similarly, daily accommodation fees for personnel using education and recreation facilities operated by public institutions will vary according to the type of lodging and are set as follows.

  • 7.50 TRY
  • 9.00 TRY
  • 10.00 TRY

The daily single-person accommodation rates listed above may be 12.00 TRY or 13.00 TRY between 1 July 2020 and 15 August 2020, depending on the type and contents of the dwelling. For refrigerators placed in accommodations or independent units, a daily usage fee of 4.50 TRY will be charged. Areas with televisions will incur a minimum daily usage fee of 4.50 TRY, and areas with air conditioning will incur an additional minimum daily charge of 6.50 TRY per lodging.

Public personnel using guesthouses and similar public accommodation will be charged at least 13.00 TRY per person per night for lodging. Depending on the level and characteristics of the service provided by the administration, or factors such as the number of beds in a room, accommodation fees may be higher.

Monthly childcare fees for each child of civil servants and other public employees accepted into daycare centers and childcare homes located in public accommodation facilities are set at 240.00 TRY. If this rate is insufficient to cover daycare and childcare services, institutions and organizations are authorized to set fees above the specified amount. In addition, use of hammams, saunas and thermal facilities for one hour will cost at least 16.50 TRY per person. The communiqué will enter into force as of 1 February 2020.
