What Is the Birth Allowance?
The birth allowance is a social assistance payment given by the state to mothers after a live birth to help cover the newborn’s initial needs. The payment amount varies depending on the number of children.

How Much Is the 2023 Birth Allowance?
The 2023 birth allowance amounts differ by child order. Current assistance amounts are as follows:

How to Receive the Birth Allowance
To receive the birth allowance, the birth must be live. This assistance is provided to mothers after delivery. You can apply for and collect the payment through the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services after the birth.

Birth Allowance Application
STEP 1: After the live birth, register your child at the District Population Directorate so the child is entered into the Identity Sharing System (KPS).
STEP 2: Go to the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services and complete the printed application form provided there.

Eligibility Requirements for the Birth Allowance
- Must be a citizen of the Republic of Turkey.
- The mother must apply in person.
- The birth must have occurred after 15 May 2015.
- The birth must be live.

How to Check Birth Allowance Status
You can check the status of your birth allowance in two ways:
- By calling PTT customer service
- Via the e-Government portal (E-Devlet)
METHOD 1: Call PTT customer services at 444 1 788 to inquire whether a birth allowance has been deposited in your name.
METHOD 2: Log in to the e-Government portal and search for “Doğum Parası Sorgulama” (Birth Allowance Inquiry) to see if any payment has been issued in your name.

How to Check Birth Allowance via e-Government
Step 1: Visit the e-Government login page and sign in with your credentials.

Step 2: After signing in, enter “doğum yardımı sorgulama” in the search field.

Step 3: Select the “Doğum Yardımı Başvurusu Sorgulama” (Birth Allowance Application Inquiry) service to view the outcome of your application.

Step 4: The result screen will show whether your application was approved and if a payment was made.

When Is the Birth Allowance Paid?
The birth allowance is paid into your account by the 25th of the month following the month in which you applied.

Where Is the Birth Allowance Paid?
The birth allowance is deposited into a PTT account in your name by the 25th of the following month. You can withdraw the payment at any PTT branch.
Can an Unemployed Mother Receive the Birth Allowance?
The only requirement for an unemployed mother to receive the birth allowance is Turkish citizenship. Any Turkish citizen mother who meets the other conditions is eligible for the payment.
