2024 Passport Renewal Fees in Turkey: How Much Will You Pay?

The 2024 passport renewal fee varies depending on the passport’s validity period. When your current passport expires or when you apply for a passport for the first time, you must pay a specific fee. These fees are set annually. The 2024 passport renewal fee represents the most current amount, and you cannot receive a new passport without paying it.

A passport is one of the essential documents you must carry when traveling abroad. Therefore, once your travel date is known, start passport procedures as soon as possible. Since document preparation and delivery take time, earlier applications are better. You must make an appointment with the relevant authority and submit the requested documents during your appointment.

2024 Passport Renewal Fees

Passport renewal fees differ according to the type and validity period of the passport. The main factor is how long the passport will be valid. Longer validity passports require a higher fee, while short-term passports are available for a lower cost.

Passport validity options include:

  • 6 months
  • 1 year
  • 2 years
  • 3 years
  • 10 years

If you plan to travel abroad only once, a 6-month passport may be sufficient. If you will travel multiple times within a year, consider the 1- or 3-year options.

Frequent travelers may opt for a 10-year passport.

Validity Fee Booklet Total
6 months 1,639.30 TL 790.00 TL 2,429.30 TL
1 year 2,396.60 TL 790.00 TL 3,186.60 TL
2 years 3,912.60 TL 790.00 TL 4,702.60 TL
3 years 5,558.30 TL 790.00 TL 6,348.30 TL
3+ years 7,833.00 TL 790.00 TL 8,623.00 TL

As shown in the table above, passport renewal costs increase with the validity period. The highest fee applies to passports valid between 4 and 10 years.

6-Month Passport Renewal Fee

The 6-month passport renewal fee for 2024 is 2,429.30 TL in total. Of this amount, 1,639.30 TL is the official fee and 790 TL is the booklet fee. You must pay this amount before submitting your application. Although a 6-month passport is short-term, it is a cost-effective option for those traveling abroad only once.

1-Year Passport Renewal Fee

The 1-year passport renewal fee for 2024 is set at 3,186.60 TL. Of this, 2,396.60 TL is the official fee and 790 TL is the booklet fee. A 1-year passport suits travelers who will make multiple trips within the same year, avoiding the need to renew every six months.

2-Year Passport Renewal Fee

The 2-year passport renewal fee is 4,702.60 TL. This includes 3,912.60 TL in official fees and 790 TL for the booklet. If you plan international travel over a two-year period, this option may be more economical.

3-Year and Longer Passport Renewal Fees

The fee for renewing a 3-year passport is 6,348.30 TL. Of this, 5,558.30 TL is the renewal fee and 790 TL is the booklet fee. For long-term travel plans, choose a passport with validity of three years or more. Since fees remain the same after three years, selecting the longest valid option can help you avoid future renewal costs.

If you choose a passport valid between 4 and 10 years, the renewal fee is 8,623.00 TL. Because this is a single fee for that range, opting for the 10-year passport is generally more practical.
