Extension of Restructuring Payment Deadlines
With a Presidential decision published in the Official Gazette, the application period for restructuring debts owed to the state was extended to June 30, and the first installment payment deadline was extended to July 31. Accordingly, the application deadline originally set to end on May 30 was moved to June 30, and the first installment date for debts was extended to July 30. To date, 3,279,000 taxpayers have applied under the restructuring option for debts payable in full or in installments, totaling 180 billion TRY. Following applications, 4,884,000 restructuring files were created. Amounts collected from these transactions have reached 8.2 billion TRY.
Which Debts Are Covered by the Restructuring?
With the extension of payment and application dates, many potential applicants are asking which debts qualify for restructuring. The measure enacted on March 13 covers taxes, traffic fines, social security premium debts, population and military registry fines, bridge and highway toll evasion penalties, as well as judicial fines and administrative fines that had not previously been included in restructuring regulations. Debts such as support premium liabilities and student loan debts are also included. Additionally, municipal receivables including property tax and water debts, and membership fee debts of chambers, exchanges and unions are covered under this restructuring.

How to Apply for Restructuring
Applications for the restructuring that began on March 13 and the first payment deadlines have been extended, which many debtors have been eagerly awaiting. How can you apply for restructuring? There are several methods available for submitting an application.

You can register on the Revenue Administration’s website or access the Interactive Tax Office via the e-Government portal to submit an application to your local tax office in person or by mail. Applications can also be made through tax offices directly. If you have debts to more than one tax office, you must apply separately to each tax office where you have liabilities.
