Announced by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the 100,000 social housing project for 2020 accepted applications between December 16, 2019 and January 15, 2020. With applications now closed, applicants are eagerly awaiting lottery dates. The social housing project, which will provide 2+1 and 3+1 homes across Turkey in all 81 provinces, has had its lottery timetable confirmed.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, the lottery draws for the TOKİ 2020 100,000 Homes Project will be held in February. The ministry also announced that 1,137,982 people applied for homes under this project.
Applications to the TOKİ 2020 100,000 Homes Project were accepted in three categories: families of martyrs; veterans and their dependents (including widows and orphans); applicants with at least a 40% disability; and other prospective buyers.
How Will the 2020 TOKİ Lottery Draws Be Conducted?
How will the 2020 TOKİ lottery draws be conducted? With the application period complete, applicants are keen to learn how the draws will be run. Following the announcement that the draws will take place in February, questions about the procedure have increased.
The lottery for the TOKİ 100,000 Homes Project will be held as a “Beneficiary Selection Lottery” in the presence of a notary and under the supervision of bank and administration officials.
The order of the lottery procedure is determined as follows.
- A quota equal to 10% of the housing stock will be reserved for families of martyrs, veterans and their dependents. If necessary, winners in this quota will be determined by lottery. Applicants in this category who are not selected will be entered into the general lottery together with other applicants.
- A quota equal to 5% of the housing stock will be reserved for applicants with at least a 40% disability. If necessary, winners in this quota will be determined by lottery. Applicants in this category who are not selected will be entered into the general lottery together with other applicants.
- For other prospective homebuyers, beneficiaries will be determined by lottery if deemed necessary according to the administration’s standard practice and the number of applications.
The location and schedule of the lottery draws for the 2020 TOKİ 100,000 Homes Project will be announced later. After the draws, applicants who are not selected as primary or reserve beneficiaries will be able to reclaim their application fees from authorized branches of T.C. Ziraat Bankası A.Ş. two business days after the lottery.
