As is well known, public institutions in our country hire specialists at certain times of the year. The requirements for these recruitments, the documents needed during application, and other important details are announced on official websites on the specified dates. According to the latest notice published by the Social Security Institution (SGK), new specialist recruitments will take place. Following this announcement, the SGK specialist recruitment requirements have become one of the most important topics of interest.
Specialists hired by the Social Security Institution will, after completing the required training, be able to work within the institution’s central organization. As employees of the institution, they will also benefit from the rights and social provisions available to SGK staff.
For announcements published at certain times of the year, the Social Security Institution generally sets multiple conditions for specialist recruitment. Applicants who meet these conditions apply during the announced periods and go through an evaluation process. Candidates who satisfy the requirements face a selection process that typically includes an exam and subsequent steps leading to final hiring. Applications for specialist positions are submitted online through the institution’s application system.
The general conditions for SGK specialist recruitment can be summarized as follows:
- Applicants must be under 35 years of age.
- Applicants must meet the general conditions specified in Article 48 of Law No. 657.
- Applicants must not be receiving a retirement or old-age pension from the Social Security Institution.
- Applicants must have obtained a score of at least 80 in the relevant KPSS score types. For candidates evaluated via the 2016 Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS), acceptable score types include KPSSP46, KPSSP113, KPSSP115, or other score types that correspond to their fields.
- Applicants must not have any health condition that prevents them from performing their duties continuously.
In addition to these general conditions, there are also specific requirements depending on the specialist field for which personnel are being recruited. These field-specific conditions vary according to the position and are detailed in the separate guidance documents published with each announcement.
You can access SGK announcements easily through the institution’s official website. If you meet the stated requirements, you may submit an application for specialist recruitment. During the application process, any annex forms and petitions published on that page must be properly completed and delivered to the Human Resources Department of the Social Security Institution Presidency located in Ankara. Applications that are late or incomplete are not considered.
Applicants for specialist positions are required to be graduates of four-year university programs. Each candidate is evaluated according to the specific field they apply for. Candidates who completed their undergraduate education abroad must have their diplomas recognized as equivalent by Turkey’s Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
Beyond the recruitment requirements, there are additional conditions candidates must meet to be eligible to participate in the selection exam. Those who do not fulfill these conditions are not entitled to sit for the exams. The eligibility conditions for the selection exam include the following:
- The applicant must have no obstacle in their security investigation.
- The applicant must not be deprived of public rights.
- Male applicants must have completed their military service or be exempt from it.
- The applicant must not have any illness that would prevent continuous performance of duties.
- The applicant must not have any travel restrictions within the country or abroad.
In the first stage of candidate evaluation, submitted documents are checked for completeness and timeliness. Applicants with missing or late documents are eliminated. In the next stage, candidates’ qualifications and résumés are reviewed. Note that internships are not counted as professional work experience during this evaluation. Following these assessments, if necessary, a verbal (oral) exam is conducted. Candidates who qualify for the oral exam are invited to Ankara to take part in the interview stage.
Finally, candidates who successfully complete all evaluation stages and meet both general and field-specific conditions may be offered positions within the Social Security Institution. All applicants are advised to carefully read the official recruitment announcement and the accompanying guidance to ensure they meet the criteria and prepare the required documents correctly before submitting their application.
