Applications are open again this year for the 6,000 TL non-repayable scholarship that İBB provides to university students. Students who wish to receive this support must apply through İBB’s “İstanbul Senin” mobile application by October 20.
This scholarship will benefit 75,000 students and will be paid in three installments. Applications can also be made via the gencuniversiteli.ibb.istanbul website in addition to the İstanbul Senin app. You can find more details about this scholarship in the rest of this article.
İBB Young University Student Education Support — Application Requirements
The İBB Young University Student scholarship has been awarded since 2019. Applicants must meet certain eligibility criteria. The requirements are as follows:
- Must be a citizen of the Republic of Turkey.
- The student or the student’s parent/guardian or the deceased parent/guardian must reside in Istanbul in case of death in the family.
- Be enrolled in an associate (vocational) or undergraduate (bachelor’s) program.
- Be continuing education within the normal duration of the program.
- Attend a state (public) university.
- Or study at a foundation/private university with a full (100%) scholarship.
Those who are not eligible for the scholarship include:
- Applicants older than 25 years.
- Master’s and doctoral (graduate) students.
- Open education (distance learning) students.
- Students studying abroad.
- Students participating in paid exchange programs.
- Students who received disciplinary punishment for dishonorable conduct or who have been convicted for dishonorable reasons while enrolled.
How to Apply for the İBB Young University Student 6,000 TL Education Support
First, search for the “İstanbul Senin” app on Google Play Store (Android) or App Store (iOS), depending on your mobile device’s operating system.
Download and install the app, then open it. On the main screen, find and tap the “Profile” tab. Create an account by entering the required information (your name, surname, email address, etc.). Choose a username and password for your account.

After completing all required fields, finish the account registration process. Return to the main screen and locate the “Genç Üniversiteli” section, then tap it. Open the application page and fill out the application form carefully. Once the form is completed, submit your application to finalize the process.
You will be notified whether your application has been accepted or rejected. Accepted applications are usually announced within a specified period. You may also apply through http://gencuniversiteli.ibb.istanbul. The application deadline is October 20.
