Omnibus Bill Discussions to Continue on Tuesday, December 26
Budget work at the TBMM has reached its conclusion. The budget debates that began on December 11 in the General Assembly are ending this evening, and following those sessions the Assembly will continue its work without interruption.
On Tuesday, December 26, deliberations will resume on the omnibus bill, which includes the one-time 5,000 TL payment for working retirees and various economic measures. Before the budget debates, 43 articles of the 86-article bill were approved; the remaining articles will be discussed and decided upon.
During 2023, the 86-article omnibus bill that includes the 5,000 TL retiree bonus will be voted on in the Parliament General Assembly and, if approved, will become law. It will then be published in the Official Gazette with the signature of the President and enter into force. After publication, Social Security institutions—SGK, SSK, Bağ-Kur and the civil servants’ pension fund—will proceed with making the payments.
When will the 5,000 TL bonus be paid to working retirees?
Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan stated regarding the one-time 5,000 TL payment to retirees: “Once the bill is approved by the Parliament and published in the Official Gazette, we have completed preparations to make the payments within two days.”
Once the bill is approved in Parliament and published in the Official Gazette, it will authorize the payment of 5,000 TL to working retirees and trigger the payment processes through the relevant social security institutions.
