Minister Kasapoğlu Announced: June Scholarship and Loan Payments Started Today! Youth and Sports Minister Muharrem Kasapoğlu announced that June scholarship and loan payments began today, May 19, and will be completed before the Ramadan holiday. According to the Youth and Sports Ministry’s statement, payments originally scheduled for June 6–10, 2020 have been advanced and started being transferred to students’ accounts as of today.
According to the statement, the scholarships and loans that were due to be paid to accounts between June 6 and June 10, 2020 will be distributed before the holiday following instructions from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Minister Dr. Muharrem Kasapoğlu confirmed that the higher education scholarship and loan payments, which the President announced would be deposited before the holiday, began arriving in students’ accounts on Tuesday, May 19, 2020.
Payments Will Be Completed Before the Holiday
Payments will be completed before the holiday. Minister Dr. Muharrem Kasapoğlu stated that transfers will be made to students’ accounts based on the last digit of their Turkish ID numbers. Payments will begin on May 19 and conclude on May 23. Kasapoğlu emphasized that the state and the nation are fighting the pandemic together, and that being a strong state has helped in this effort. He added that with cooperation between the state and the public these challenging days will be overcome quickly and that the government will continue to support students during this period. The scholarship and loan payments will be transferred according to the following schedule:
- Last digit 0 — May 19, 2020 (Tuesday)
- Last digit 2 — May 20, 2020 (Wednesday)
- Last digit 4 — May 21, 2020 (Thursday)
- Last digit 6 — May 22, 2020 (Friday)
- Last digit 8 — May 23, 2020 (Saturday)
