When you drive, there are rules you must follow both for your own safety and for the safety of others on the road. These rules help maintain order in traffic, but sometimes violations occur intentionally or unintentionally. When a violation is detected, traffic officers may issue penalties against your vehicle. As technology advances, some of these enforcement tasks are handled by devices in certain locations. For example, you may exceed the speed limit when rushing somewhere; even if an officer is not present, radars can detect the violation. Another example is surveillance cameras (MOBESE), which can record traffic offenses. In such cases, penalties are applied. However, these fines do not always reach the vehicle owner immediately, so you should regularly check for traffic fines and, if any, pay them on time. Delaying payment can result in late fees and higher charges.
You can complete traffic fine payments online. Through the Revenue Administration’s official website and the Internet Tax Office system, you can both check whether there are fines registered under your name and pay any outstanding penalties online. This system allows you to monitor fines regularly and complete payments within minutes. Below, you will find detailed information on how and where to make your traffic fine payment.
How to Pay Traffic Fines
You can easily complete your traffic fine payment through the Internet Tax Office system using a few pieces of information. For best performance, we recommend using the system between 02:00 and 22:00. To begin, click the link at the end of this article to access the service. On the page that opens, enter your vehicle’s license plate number in the first field shown in the screenshot. Next, indicate whether you have a custom plate by selecting “Yes” or “No.” Then enter your Turkish ID number or tax identification number when requested. Finally, you will be asked to enter the vehicle registration date. If the vehicle is brand new, this date is the day it first entered traffic; if the vehicle is used, it is the date you took ownership at the notary. Read the red guidance text for additional instructions on completing the process. After verifying the information you entered, click the “Tamam” (Confirm) button shown in the image.
If you follow the steps correctly, you can securely complete your traffic fine payment online.
