Open Education Faculty (AÖF), which provides higher education through an open education system to approximately 1.4 million students, continues to enroll new students this year across 17 undergraduate and 34 associate degree programs. The open education registration dates are announced each year by the relevant institution before the term starts; these dates allow students to register, renew courses, and complete related procedures. For the 2016-2017 academic year fall term, registrations for the Open Education, Economics and Business Faculties were completed by renewing registrations, adding or dropping courses, and paying the required fees. The registration dates for this academic year have been announced. Open education registration renewals began on Monday, September 26, 2016, and ended at the close of business on Friday, October 7, 2016. Students with valid excuses were also able to renew their registrations on Friday, October 7, 2016.
- First-time registrations began on Thursday, August 25, 2016, and concluded on Saturday, September 3, 2016. The make-up registration date was announced as Saturday, September 3, 2016.
- Registrations for students enrolling as a second university started on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, and ended on Friday, September 9, 2016. The make-up registration date for open education was set as Friday, September 9, 2016.
- Registration renewals began on Monday, September 26, 2016, and ended on Friday, October 7, 2016, with the make-up date also on Friday, October 7, 2016. According to AÖF announcements, registration deadlines will not be extended.
During the fall term, course assignments for registration renewal are determined by the faculty so that they do not exceed 30 ECTS credits. Apart from courses being retaken, the faculty may adjust courses upward or downward. Course additions and drops can be made through the Registration Automation link on the Open Education Faculty website. You may add or remove courses before making the payment; after payment has been completed, access to these actions is closed.
Students who pay tuition fees before reviewing and adjusting their courses must accept the courses assigned by the university. Therefore, it is important to review and select courses as desired before making the payment.
If you need to add or drop courses again after the registration period but within the payment deadline, you can use the Make-up Course Addition section on the Open Education Faculty website. Students who must retake a remaining course in order to graduate may register for additional courses provided the total does not exceed 45 ECTS credits.

Open Education Faculty Office Hours
Open Education Faculty (AÖF) offices open at 08:30 and close at 17:00. These offices operate on weekdays and do not process transactions on weekends.
Open Education Faculty Tuition Fees
Tuition fees for open education programs are announced each year before the academic year begins. Many program fees are the same, though some differ. For bachelor’s programs and the Economics and Business Faculties, the tuition fee is 205 TL. For associate degree programs, fees are generally 205 TL except for the programs listed below.
