New retirees will receive a 1,000 TL holiday bonus! The 1,000 TL Ramadan Bayrami bonus that was paid to pensioners in April due to the coronavirus situation is still available to newly retired citizens. Those whose pensions begin this month will be eligible for the Ramadan Bayrami bonus. In addition to newly retired people, those who are granted permanent incapacity pensions or survivor (death) pensions in May will also qualify for the holiday bonus.
Approximately 13 million pensioners received the Ramadan Bayrami bonus in April, and newly retired citizens can also benefit from this support. Citizens whose pensions are granted this month will qualify for the 1,000 TL Bayrami bonus paid for Ramadan. Thus, newly retired people will receive the holiday bonus in addition to their regular pension payment.
The Ramadan Bayrami Bonus Opportunity for New Retirees Continues
The opportunity for new retirees to receive the Ramadan Bayrami bonus continues. This year, under the economic stabilization measures, the Ramadan bonuses were paid in April. To prevent new retirees in May from being disadvantaged by the April payment schedule, a new regulation was introduced as part of a package law.
Under the new arrangement, the qualification rule for the bonus was adjusted. Instead of requiring the pension to be received on the specific payment date, the rule now requires the person to be receiving income or pension during the month that contains the holiday. The 2020 Ramadan Bayram falls between 24 and 26 May 2020. Therefore, citizens whose pensions are granted during this month will be eligible for the Bayrami bonus payment. According to this provision, those whose pensions are activated this month will be eligible for two holiday bonuses this year—a total of 2,000 TL—when the Kurban Bayrami bonus is paid. Meanwhile, citizens whose retirement takes effect in June or July will still be eligible for the 1,000 TL Bayrami bonus this year. Details on who is entitled to what amount are listed below.
- Pensioner: 1,000 TL
- Survivor pension beneficiary (75% share): 750 TL
- Survivor pension beneficiary (50% share): 500 TL
- Survivor pension beneficiary (25% share): 250 TL
- If a person receives two pensions, the Bayrami bonus will be paid from the service that provides the higher pension.
- Recipients of permanent incapacity allowance will receive a Bayrami bonus proportional to their degree of incapacity.
