News affecting tens of thousands: 3-month deferral for those who owe the state. A breaking announcement was made by the Minister of Environment and Urbanization, Murat Kurum. In his statement, Minister Kurum said that debts for April, May and June belonging to a total of 46,500 rightful owners from 2-B lands and agricultural land sales have been deferred for three months. He added that the amount deferred for those months totals 156 million TL.
According to the statement by Minister Murat Kurum, the debts totalling 156 million TL for April, May and June 2020 for the 46,500 beneficiaries in the 2-B and agricultural land sales process are being deferred for three months. The minister also noted: “Ecrimisil payments amounting to 43 million TL for 18,000 farmers who use household agricultural lands for farming and livestock operations have been deferred for three months.”
Minister Kurum Emphasized That He Stands with Farmers
Minister Kurum reiterated his support for farmers. In a social media statement he said that the ecrimisil payments for state-owned agricultural lands used by farmers for April, May and June 2020 will be deferred for three months without any interest or surcharge. Instead of requiring payment of the total 43 million TL debt now, the payments have been postponed and around 18,000 of our farmers will benefit from this deferral.
He also confirmed that for the 46,500 beneficiaries involved in 2‑B and agricultural land sales, the total debt of 156 million TL due for April, May and June 2020 has been deferred. These deferred amounts are postponed for three months without any interest or additional charge and without the need for any application. Minister Kurum stated that the government stands by the farmers who add value to our lands and drive the country’s production and development. He concluded that by working shoulder to shoulder during this period, we will overcome the challenges and emerge stronger.
