Breaking News: 14-Day Home Quarantine Rule Lifted! After Turkey’s determined fight against the coronavirus pandemic, life is gradually returning toward normal even though the threat has not completely disappeared. According to the latest announcement, another restriction tied to normalization has been removed. The home quarantine requirement for citizens arriving from abroad has been lifted as part of this process. The rule that required people entering Turkey from other countries to undergo home quarantine for 14 days is no longer in effect.
Abdullah Eren, President of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), announced that the 14-day home quarantine supervision rule for citizens living abroad who travel to spend their holidays in their homeland has been revoked. In a written statement, the YTB explained that strict measures implemented at border crossings and for travelers arriving from abroad, which were introduced during the peak of the global coronavirus outbreak, are now being eased as part of the normalization process. Accordingly, transit access has been restored for Turkish citizens living in Europe who travel by land to Turkey during the summer months. Various initiatives continue to be implemented to ensure that visitors can spend their leave comfortably and safely.
Returns from Abroad to the Homeland Have Begun!
Returns from Abroad to the Homeland Have Begun! In his remarks, Abdullah Eren addressed several points. Turkish citizens living abroad have already started their journeys back to spend the summer holidays in their hometowns. To meet travelers’ needs and support easier travel to and from Turkey, the YTB will once again run the “Sıla Yolu Project” this year.
This summer, measures at border points such as Kapıkule have been reviewed to ensure citizens coming from abroad do not face practices that would shorten their allowed leave time. Within this framework, the “14-Day Home Supervision” application has been removed. The president added: “This year as well, during the summer leave period, YTB will stand by our citizens who set out on the journey back to their homeland.”
