Check Your SGK/SSK Employment Start Date Online

SGK / SSK employment start date inquiry, is crucial for determining the day you become eligible for retirement. This date can be learned online or at Social Security Institution (SGK) service centers. The SSK employment start date lookup applies to SGK 4/A type insurance and can be accessed through e-Government services under the 4/A section.

Querying Employment Start Date via e-Government

To check your employment start date through the e-Government system, you need to obtain a 4A service statement. This document shows the date you began employment and can also be used for official retirement procedures. The 4/A service statement should be reviewed to prevent any mistakes or malicious entries made by employers.

After starting a job, employees should ask their employer whether social security contributions have been reported. Once they confirm contributions have been submitted, they should check the 4/A service statement within a week at the latest.

How to query the employment start date on e-Government:

  • First, log in to the e-Government portal.
  • Open the “SGK Service Statement” screen.
  • Your employment start date appears on the document displayed.

After logging in with your e-Government password, you can perform many checks quickly and free of charge.

Where the Employment Start Date Appears on the 4/A Service Statement

The employment start date on the 4/A service statement is shown under the heading “long-term days” (long-term contribution days). The service statement from the e-Government system first displays registration details such as name, surname, place of birth and identity number.

Directly under these identity details are the registration records for 4/A, 4/B, 4/C and Civil Servants’ Fund. In the section where registration information appears, you can see your SGK entry day details.

The “long-term days” number represents the total days worked as an insured employee. If you want to see all SGK day totals, not just long-term, click the service statement type below the registration information and select “All SGK service statement.”

Querying SSK Start Date Using Only a Name

Querying an SGK employment start date using only a name is generally not possible online. Even the e-Government system requires a password and your Turkish identity number (T.C. Kimlik No.). Only authorized accountants or personnel at the employer’s workplace may assist using internal records.

Therefore, remote inquiries using only a person’s name are not considered feasible.

Checking Employment Start Date at Social Security Institution Offices

You can also learn your employment start date by visiting SGK service centers in person. When visiting, bring your identity card; no other documents are usually required for the inquiry.

Learning the Start Date via Retirement Eligibility Inquiry

You can also learn your employment start date through the SSK retirement eligibility inquiry without downloading the 4/A service statement. Every insured worker becomes eligible for retirement after accumulating the required premium days and service years.

Because retirement rules and exceptions change, retirement age and eligibility differ by person. This makes it important to regularly check your employment start date and remaining service days.

For example, two workers of the same age and gender may not retire on the same date due to different contribution histories. For this reason, the e-Government system displays retirement information such as when you can retire, employment start and end dates, and remaining days until retirement.

To learn your SSK employment start date, first log in to the e-Government system with your identity number and password.

After logging in, scroll to the bottom of the page. There is a link to the Social Security Institution; within that section you will find options like “Retirement Status Inquiry” and “When Can I Retire?”

Clicking “When Can I Retire?” redirects you to a retirement status page that notes the results are informational and not an official document.

Below the warning, you will see the insurance code and start date fields. The insurance code indicates whether the coverage is 4/A, 4/B or 4/C. Enter an approximate start date; if the date you enter is incorrect, the system will flag it as an error.

Querying Employment Start Date Through SGK Website

SGK-hosted employment start date queries are available as insurance start date lookups and require visiting the e-SGK web page.

You can use the SGK website address and follow the prompts. The site will ask for identity information because it does not automatically connect with the e-Government portal for single-sign-on.

You will be asked for details such as your Turkish identity number, province, birth year and family register (cilt) number. A captcha security code will also be required. After entering these details, the system displays your insurance start date and your contribution payment information.

Finding Bağ-Kur Insurance Start Date

The Bağ-Kur (4/B) insurance start date can also be queried via e-Government. After logging in, access the 4/B service information section to view your Bağ-Kur start date.

If you worked only for a single employer, the service statement will show your insurance start date, which is also your employment start date.

You can access this information either from the search box at the top of the e-Government page after login or via the Social Security Institution link at the bottom of the portal.
