Claim Up to 50,000 TL in Non-Repayable Government Grants Today

Good News for Aspiring Entrepreneurs!

KOSGEB applicants who wanted to receive the 50,000 TL grant used to be required to obtain a certificate proving they had successfully completed 70 hours of practical entrepreneurship training, including 24 hours of workshop sessions. Only after receiving that certificate could entrepreneurs apply for the grant. This requirement created delays and difficulties for many applicants. Furthermore, previously KOSGEB support was provided only after related business expenses were incurred.

As of February 1, KOSGEB introduced a new regulation removing the requirement to have the certificate before opening a business. Under the new rule, individuals who plan to start their own business can apply to KOSGEB first; if their business idea is approved, they can receive funding immediately.

What Are the Eligibility Requirements for the 50,000 TL Grant?

There are two main conditions for applicants seeking the grant to start their own business: they must not be employed with social security (SGK) at another workplace, and they must not already own a company.

How Will Applications Be Made Under the New System?

With the changes introduced by the new system, the application steps are as follows:

  1. Before registering a company, apply to KOSGEB and have your business idea evaluated and approved by the committee.
  2. After approval, you must register your company related to the approved business idea within 90 days at the latest.
  3. Because you apply to KOSGEB before company registration, you will not have a tax number yet. To document expected costs, you can submit proforma invoices to the committee.

How Do KOSGEB Committees Evaluate Applications?

The committees review applications submitted by entrepreneurs who apply before establishing their business. They assess the planned enterprises for sustainability, profitability, and sectoral potential. Passing this committee review depends on how well applicants present and justify their business idea.

How Much Support Can You Receive?

KOSGEB provides up to 50,000 TL in grants for applicants who cannot otherwise finance opening a business and, in addition, offers interest-free loans up to 100,000 TL. If your idea is approved, you may receive up to 150,000 TL in total support. Applicants are notified of the committee’s decision, whether positive or negative.

How Many Times Can You Apply?

Approved applicants must establish their business, register in the KOSGEB database, and sign a declaration within 90 days. Candidates who fail to complete these steps within the specified period forfeit their application right. Each candidate may apply up to three times. Applicants who receive a negative decision three times in a row lose their right to apply for this support.

Is the Support Available in All Provinces?

KOSGEB operates across all 81 provinces and has branches, directorates, and representatives in various districts. Wherever you live in Turkey, you can apply at a KOSGEB office and benefit from support up to 150,000 TL. For information about KOSGEB branches, contact the KOSGEB Call Center at 444 15 67.
