Coronavirus Numbers Rising in 9 Provinces: Latest Local Report

Alarming Coronavirus Numbers in 9 Provinces: According to the latest updates, concerns continue to rise in Anatolian cities where coronavirus cases are increasing. While case numbers have continued to fall in major cities that took strict measures, nine provinces in Anatolia have begun to show a rise in coronavirus infections. These increases in the nine provinces are worrying experts. As the weather warmed, many people relaxed home isolation and began neglecting precautions such as masks and social distancing, causing case numbers to climb.

Despite preventive measures against coronavirus, Batman ranks among the provinces with the highest increase in cases. After nine confirmed cases on April 3, Batman has seen a steep rise this week, reaching as many as 450 cases. The governor of Batman stated that, given the citywide rise in cases, they will need to take radical measures and will request a curfew during the Ramadan holiday.

Which Provinces Are Experiencing an Increase in Coronavirus Cases?

Which provinces are experiencing an increase in coronavirus cases? Based on population-adjusted figures, Uşak is one of the provinces with the largest increase. After records on April 2 showed 38 cases, the most recent count has risen to 441. Rize is another province where complacency appears to have set in. Although a decline in cases had been observed when social distancing and home isolation were respected, violations of these measures have allowed cases to rise again. On April 4, Rize reported 101 cases, and increases have continued since then.

Although measures in Rize had initially reduced cases, warmer weather and the start of normalization have encouraged people to fill streets and squares. Police warnings about social distancing have had limited effect on their own. In crowded areas, warning signs have been posted to remind people of precautions. Another province seeing rising cases is Mardin. On April 3, Mardin reported 50 cases, but the Nusaybin district alone has already exceeded that figure.

Gaziantep is also among the provinces with rising case counts. On April 3, Gaziantep had 49 cases; today the situation is much more serious, with reported cases reaching 750. Düzce has likewise seen an increase: from 32 cases earlier to 246 at present. Although the current number of cases in Kars has not been officially released, the governor of Kars warned that they are unfortunately seeing an increase.

These are the latest developments for the nine Anatolian provinces mentioned. Precautionary measures have been implemented in many other Anatolian provinces as well. From tomorrow, Adıyaman will prohibit being outdoors without a mask. Balıkesir has also banned going outside without a mask. Overall, provinces such as Batman, Kars, Uşak, Düzce, Gaziantep, Van, Adıyaman, Rize and Zonguldak are now showing alarmingly rising case numbers. In these provinces, authorities may impose curfews or other restrictions if trends continue.
