Education Ministry Announces Those Exams Have Been Postponed

The Ministry of National Education (MEB) has announced that certain exams have been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. According to a statement from Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk, the Scholarship Examination for Primary and Secondary Education Institutions and the Probation Removal (Adaylık Kaldırma) Examination have both been delayed. The Scholarship Exam, originally scheduled for April 25, 2020, has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2020 because of COVID-19 precautions.

Minister Ziya Selçuk also confirmed the postponement of the exam for teacher candidates. The Probation Removal Examination, which was planned for April 25, 2020, will now be held on Sunday, July 5, 2020.

MEB Postpones These Exams

The Ministry of National Education has officially postponed the Scholarship Examination and the Probation Removal Examination as a precautionary measure in response to the pandemic. In his announcement, Minister Selçuk stated that the ministry has revised the exam calendar and taken steps to protect participants’ health by moving the dates.

Specifically, the İOKBS (Primary and Secondary Education Institutions Scholarship Examination), which was to be administered both domestically and abroad on Saturday, April 25, 2020, will now take place on Saturday, June 6, 2020. The Probation Removal Examination for teacher candidates, also originally set for April 25, 2020, has been postponed to Sunday, July 5, 2020. These changes reflect the ministry’s efforts to prioritize safety while ensuring the exams can be held under more favorable conditions.

The ministry indicated that it will continue to monitor public health guidance and adjust the academic calendar as needed. Candidates affected by the rescheduling are advised to follow official MEB communications for any further updates regarding exam locations, times, and application procedures.
