Residents of Istanbul will be able to obtain free rides on metrobüs, city lines, buses, Marmaray and metro services. Eligible citizens must meet certain conditions for the free ride credit to be loaded onto their Istanbulkart. The campaign requires transactions to be completed by the end of February to qualify.
The “3 free rides” promotion will allow Istanbulkart holders to use several types of urban public transportation at no cost. To benefit from the campaign, the second and subsequent payments of 200 TRY or more made with an Istanbulkart will trigger the reward being credited to the participant’s account.
3 FREE RIDES WITH ISTANBULKART!
Between February 1 and February 28, 2023, a single purchase of 200 TRY or more made with a physical Istanbulkart will qualify. If the cardholder completes additional purchases of 200 TRY or more on different days—a second, third and fourth qualifying purchase—each of those purchases will earn one ride credit that will be loaded onto the recipient’s Digital Istanbulkart. Cardholders who meet the conditions will be able to use the free rides via QR code.
After the required purchases and successful payments, rewards will be available for use within the specified campaign period. The promotion provides three free ride credits to the Digital Istanbulkart, valid across all public transport modes that accept Istanbulkart. Each successful qualifying payment registers one ride credit; at the close of the campaign, accumulated rewards will be loaded onto users’ Digital Istanbulkart accounts.
WHAT ARE THE CAMPAIGN CONDITIONS?
Until February 28, 2023, a single purchase of 200 TRY or more made with a physical Istanbulkart qualifies the cardholder to earn additional ride credits when they make a second, third and fourth purchase of 200 TRY or more on different days. Because the ride credits are loaded onto the Digital Istanbulkart, participants must download Istanbulkart Mobile and register their Istanbulkart on the app before March 3.
Rewards loaded to the Digital Istanbulkart can be used with QR code access for transportation. Free ride credits are valid for QR-based entries via Istanbulkart Mobile on metrobüs, metro, buses, Marmaray and city lines. The three ride credits will be applied to the Digital Istanbulkart linked through Istanbulkart Mobile for those who qualify and participate in the campaign.
