The Interior Ministry has issued a nationwide directive to all 81 provincial governorates for coordinated inspections. According to the latest announcement, the Ministry sent an instruction to monitor compliance with coronavirus measures in barbershops, hair salons, taxis, marketplaces and public transport. Simultaneous inspections will be carried out today across all 81 provinces in the specified locations.
What Information Is Included in the Directive Sent to the 81 Provincial Governorates?
The directive states that a coordinated nationwide operation called the “Turkey Safety and Peace Operation” will take place between 15:00 and 24:00, involving 51,885 personnel. The stated aim is to ensure compliance with COVID-19 protections in the listed settings.
One set of inspections will be conducted by teams established within all governorates and district governorships under the Interior Ministry’s instructions. These teams will check barbershops, hairdressers, beauty centers, shopping centers, commercial taxis, marketplaces, urban and intercity public transportation services, and, where travel restrictions apply, the entry and exit points of those provinces.
The inspections will verify working procedures and rules defined for these venues during the coronavirus outbreak, including adherence to social distancing, mandatory mask-wearing and hygiene standards.
A parallel inspection operation will be carried out by the General Directorate of Security, the Gendarmerie General Command and the Coast Guard Command. This operation will also take place between 15:00 and 24:00 with the participation of 51,885 personnel as part of the Turkey Safety and Peace Operation.
