ÖSYM President Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy provided details about the 2023 Exam and Results Announcement Calendar. Stating that approximately 50 exams will be held in 2023, the ÖSYM head announced that candidates affected by the earthquake will not be charged any exam or application fees for the YKS.
Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy, head of the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM), said the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS), which consists of three separate sessions, will be held on June 17-18 and that applications will be accepted between March 8-23. He noted that YKS results will be announced on July 20. Prof. Dr. Ersoy also clarified the dates for the Public Personnel Selection Examination (KPSS). He stated: “KPSS General Ability–General Culture–Educational Sciences sessions will be held on July 23; Field Knowledge first-day sessions on July 29 and second-day sessions on July 30. The KPSS Teaching Field Knowledge Test (ÖABT) will be administered on August 6. KPSS results will be announced on August 25.”
YKS 2023 applications have begun
Regarding the YKS, ÖSYM President Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy said, “No exam or application fees will be charged to any of our candidates residing in the 11 provinces and one district declared disaster areas due to the earthquake, or those who relocated from those places to other provinces and districts after the earthquake.” This statement confirms that earthquake victims will be exempt from exam and application fees.

Reporting that about 50 exams will be held in 2023, Ersoy added the following:
“In 2022 we provided exam and placement services to over 12 million candidates. Together with all our stakeholders, we will continue to operate as an examination center meeting international standards this year as well. Previously, we announced that some exams could not be held in Adıyaman, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş and Malatya, and that candidates scheduled for those regions could choose their preferred exam centers.
We are working to prevent hardship for candidates from the earthquake region in upcoming exams. Information about the exams we administer is regularly shared on our website and social media channels. I wish success in advance to all candidates who will participate in the exams.”
The 2023 Annual Exam Schedule, which contains the exam, application and result announcement dates for exams to be administered by ÖSYM this year, will be available on the osym.gov.tr website. Candidates can start submitting YKS applications from today. Those who wish to apply for KPSS will need to wait until July. The KPSS, which consists of multiple sessions, will hold its General Ability–General Culture–Educational Sciences sessions on July 23, Field Knowledge first-day sessions on July 29 and second-day sessions on July 30. The KPSS Teaching Field Knowledge Test (ÖABT) will take place on August 6, and KPSS results will be announced on August 25.
