The ministry’s update clarified many questions about the remedial program. The announcement stated: “Face-to-face remedial, completion, and adaptation education organized for official education institutions will begin on Monday, August 31, 2020, and the remedial education will last three weeks.” The Ministry of National Education also noted that support and booster courses, as well as additional remedial programs, will continue during the year.

Minister Ziya Selçuk explained that planning for remedial education during the distance-learning period has proceeded carefully. He emphasized that EBA TV and the EBA web platform will definitely be supported by in-person instruction. During this period, the priority will be supporting students’ adjustment to school and their psychosocial needs, consolidating the gains made during distance learning, and focusing remedial efforts on the academic areas identified as needing attention.
