Millions of SSK and Bağkur Pensioners Start Receiving Payments

The Ministry of Labour and Social Security recently issued a statement about retirees’ pensions in Turkey, a matter affecting millions. New details emerged regarding SSK and Bağ-Kur pension payments following the ministry’s announcement.

After the major earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş, several ministries have continued to share updates. The Ministry of Labour and Social Security’s announcement about pension payments attracted widespread attention.

PENSIONS PAID EARLY

The Ministry confirmed a change to the payment schedule for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees: pension disbursements were brought forward. The specific dates when Social Security Institution (SGK) retirees under SSK and Bağ-Kur will receive their payments have now been announced.

SSK AND BAĞ-KUR PENSION PAYMENT DATES

The payment dates for SSK and Bağ-Kur pensions have been clarified. After the ministry announced that pensions would be paid early, beneficiaries sought the exact dates. According to the schedule, SSK pension payments were made as follows:

  • Pensions scheduled for February 17, 18, 19 and 20 were paid on February 14,
  • Pensions scheduled for February 21, 22, 23 and 24 were paid on February 15,
  • Pensions scheduled for February 25 were paid on February 16.

Bağ-Kur pension payments were also advanced: those with payments due on February 25 and 26 received them on February 16, while those due on February 27 and 28 received them on February 17.

UNEMPLOYMENT AND PART-TIME WORK ALLOWANCES WILL BE PAID

The Ministry also announced measures for residents in the earthquake-affected provinces. Following the destructive quake that impacted 11 provinces centered on Kahramanmaraş, unemployment and short-time working allowances for those in the affected areas were advanced. These payments were moved up and credited to beneficiaries’ accounts on February 15. Due to the disaster, salaries for civil servants and pensions for retirees were deposited into accounts earlier than their normal payment dates.
