In a breaking announcement, Minister Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk informed public sector employees that their 13-day additional allowance payments will be processed and credited to accounts today. The announcement aims to reassure workers that funds will be available in time for the holiday.
In her written statement, Minister Selçuk reminded that the annual additional allowance totals 56 days. She explained that these payments are distributed twice a year in two instalments. The first instalment of the mandatory 26-day portion was deposited on January 31, 2020, and the second instalment is being paid today. She also noted that, under Law No. 6772, additional allowance payments are extended to include workers who transitioned from subcontracted positions to permanent staff in 2017.
