Bozdağ made this statement during an iftar with earthquake victims who had been affected by the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes on February 6 and later accommodated at the Personnel Training Center of the General Directorate of Prisons and Detention Houses in Ankara.
During the iftar, Bozdağ offered prayers for those who lost their lives in the earthquake and reminded attendees that judicial deadlines in the affected regions have been suspended since February 6. He added the following:
“Some courthouses will return to their pre-earthquake status; we will not extend deadlines there. These courthouses include Diyarbakır, Adana, Kilis, Osmaniye, Nurdağı and İslahiye, and, except for certain parts of Gaziantep central and district courts, we will not apply extensions in these locations. In other provinces we will evaluate on a district-by-district basis. For example, we will extend deadlines for the center of Hatay while some of its districts will have extensions and others will continue as usual. We will extend deadlines for the centers of Malatya, Kahramanmaraş and Adıyaman, and will assess their districts individually. In some districts there will be no extensions.”
